Job Type:
Defines the number of hours a week an employee is regularly scheduled to work.
Full-time: A "Full-time" job is when the employee is regularly scheduled to work 40-hours per week.
Part-time: A "Part-time" job is when the employee is regularly scheduled to work between 20 and 39 hours per week. In some rare instances, a "Part-time" employee may be scheduled for less than 20 hours per week.
Short-hour: A "Short-hour" job is where the employee is regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week (between 1 and 19 hours per week).
On-call: An "On-call" position is when the employee has no (0) regularly scheduled hours. These jobs are filled to primarily replace regular employee absences, paid time-off for "Full-time, Part-time and Short-hour" employees and when there is a temporary increase in the work flow.
Call-in: A "Call-in" position is when the employee has no (0) regularly scheduled hours. These jobs are filled to primarily replace regular employee absences, paid time-off for "Full-time, Part-time and Short-hour" employees and when there is a temporary increase in the work flow. This term is used in locations where it appears in local Union contracts to indicate an "On-call" job.
Per-Diem: A "Per-Diem" position is when the employee has no (0) regularly scheduled hours. These jobs are filled to primarily replace regular employee absences, paid time-off for "Full-time, Part-time and Short-hour" employees and when there is a temporary increase in the work flow.

Shift:
Defines the general hours in which the position is scheduled to work.
Day shift: A "Day shift" position is generally when the work begins between 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon.
Evening shift: An "Evening shift" position is generally when the work begins between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Night shift: A "Night shift" position is generally when the work begins between 10:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.
Variable shift: A "Variable shift" position is when the individual may be scheduled to work more than 1 shift option (for example: Days and Nights) in the same week.
10 hours: This type of shift is when the length of the employee's "start" to "end" time is 10 hours long.
12 hours: This type of shift is when the length of the employee's "start" to "end" time is 12 hours long.

Bargaining Unit:
Is another term used for a Labor Union.
This indicates that the position is represented by a Labor Union that has a collective bargaining agreement (Union contract) with Kaiser Permanente
